Soft Glam Decoded: A Breakdown of Rida's Look

Soft Glam Decoded: A Breakdown of Rida's Look

Samah Mudasar•October 25, 2026

There's something about soft glam that never gets old. It's polished without feeling overdone, glamorous without being too dramatic, and just the right amount of extra. It's the kind of makeup that makes you feel dressed up while still looking like yourself — and this look is a perfect example.

I’m always drawn to makeup that complements the person wearing it. This look is all about warm, rosy tones, luminous skin, softly defined eyes and a glossy pink lip. It's romantic, feminine and versatile enough to work for a wedding guest, engagement, reception or even a bride who prefers something a little more understated.

Let's break it down.

1. The Base: Glowy, Smooth and Skin-Like

The foundation of this look is, quite literally, the foundation.

The complexion appears smooth and softly radiant, with enough coverage to even out the skin tone while retaining a natural-looking finish. Rather than an extremely matte, flat base, the skin has a healthy luminosity that catches the light beautifully.

To recreate this effect, start with moisturised skin and a suitable primer. Use a medium-to-full-coverage foundation with a natural or satin finish, blending it evenly into the neck and jawline. Conceal under the eyes and around areas that need extra coverage, then set strategically with a finely milled translucent or skin-toned powder.

The key is to keep the base polished without making it look heavy.

The products to reach for: A hydrating primer, a satin-finish foundation, a creamy concealer and a lightweight setting powder.

2. The Blush: Rosy, Fresh and Beautifully Blended

If there's one thing that brings this entire look together, it's the blush.

A soft rosy-pink shade is applied generously across the cheeks, creating that romantic, fresh-faced flush. The colour extends slightly upwards towards the temples, giving the face a lifted

appearance while blending seamlessly into the rest of the complexion.

There's also a subtle warmth around the nose and centre of the face, which keeps the look cohesive rather than overly sculpted.

For this effect, try a rose-pink or muted warm pink blush. A cream or liquid blush underneath a coordinating powder blush can help create dimension and improve longevity, particularly for long wedding events.

And please don't be afraid of blush. When blended well, it can make an incredible difference to the finished look.

The products to reach for: A rosy cream blush, a coordinating powder blush and a soft contour or bronzer for gentle definition.

3. The Eyes: Warm Browns, Rose Gold and a Little Smokiness

The eyes are where this look gets its glamour.

The colour palette combines warm brown, soft rose and champagne shimmer, creating depth

without making the eyes look too dark. The transition shades are blended softly through the crease, while a lighter, shimmery champagne or rose-gold shade brightens the centre of the lids.

The outer corners are deepened with a darker brown, giving the eyes

definition and that softly smoked-out finish. A touch of deeper shadow along the lower lash line ties everything together, making the eyes look defined from every angle.

What makes this particularly lovely is the balance: the shimmer catches the light, while the deeper shades add structure.

To recreate it, start with a matte warm taupe or medium brown through the crease. Add a rosy-brown shade to build warmth, then press a champagne or rose-gold shimmer onto the lid. Blend a deep chocolate brown into the outer corners and along the lower lash line.

Keep the edges soft. The goal is smoky, not harsh.

The products to reach for: A neutral-warm eyeshadow palette, matte taupe and brown shadows, champagne or rose-gold shimmer, and a deep chocolate-brown shade for definition.

4. The Eyeliner: Defined Without Taking Over

A good eyeliner can completely change the look of an eye, and here, it's doing exactly what it should.

The upper lash line is dark and defined, with a subtle elongated shape that enhances the eyes without dominating the softer eyeshadow colours. The lower lashline is also softly defined, creating a slightly sultry effect.

Rather than relying on a dramatic, oversized wing, the eyeliner works with the eyeshadow to create depth and definition.

For a similar result, use a black or deep brown eyeliner along the upper lash line, keeping the line close to the lashes. A little black or deep brown shadow smudged over the liner can soften its edges and blend it into the smoky outer corner.

For extra intensity, add a little kajal to the waterline, adjusting the placement to suit your eye shape and preferred level of drama.

The products to reach for: Black or dark-brown gel eyeliner, a soft kajal pencil and a small smudging brush.

5. The Lashes: Full, Fluttery and Wispy

The lashes add the finishing touch to the eyes.

They're full and beautifully defined, with enough volume and length to make the eyes stand out without competing with the eyeshadow. This style works particularly well with soft glam because it

gives the eyes a more dramatic finish while keeping the overall look romantic.

A volumizing mascara is a great starting point, but for a more glamorous event look, a pair of wispy false lashes will help create that fluttery effect.

Choose lashes that add length and volume while still allowing the eyeshadow to show through. If you prefer a more natural finish, individual or half lashes can be a lovely alternative.

The products to reach for: A volumising mascara, wispy strip lashes or individual lashes, and a reliable lash adhesive.

6. The Brows: Full, Defined and Natural-Looking

The brows frame the entire face, and this look keeps them full, structured and softly groomed.

They're defined enough to complement the dramatic eyes, but they don't appear overly sharp or heavily filled in. The natural brow shape is retained, with the colour concentrated where extra definition is needed.

To achieve this, use a fine brow pencil or powder to fill in sparse areas with small, hair-like strokes. Brush the hairs into place with a tinted or clear brow gel, keeping the front of the brows softer than the tail.

The idea is to create definition without making the brows look too harsh.

The products to reach for: A brow pencil or powder in a shade that complements your natural brow colour, plus a clear or tinted brow gel.

7. The Lips: Glossy Pink With a Softly Defined Edge

The lips bring a lovely softness to the entire look.

A muted rosy-pink shade gives the lips colour without overpowering the eyes, while a slightly deeper pink liner adds definition and creates a fuller-looking shape. The glossy finish makes the lips appear fresh and hydrated.

To recreate this combination, outline the lips with a rose-pink or pink-brown lip liner, gently

blending the colour inwards. Add a rosy nude or muted pink lipstick, then finish with a clear or pink-tinted gloss.

If you prefer a more understated finish, swap the gloss for a satin lipstick. If you're wearing this look to a wedding, you can also keep the liner and lipstick underneath the gloss so you have some colour left as the shine wears away.

The products to reach for: A rose-pink or pink-brown lip liner, a rosy nude lipstick and a clear or pink lip gloss.

8. The Final Touch: Highlight and Setting Spray

The final details are what make the look feel complete.

A subtle champagne-toned highlighter catches the light on the high points of the cheeks, while a setting spray helps meld the layers of makeup together for a more seamless finish.

The highlight should complement the skin's natural luminosity rather than create a separate, overly glittery effect. A little on the cheekbones and perhaps the inner corners of the eyes is often enough.

For an event that lasts several hours, allow your setting spray to dry properly and carry your lipstick or gloss for touch-ups.

The products to reach for: A finely milled champagne highlighter and a long-wearing setting spray suited to your skin type.

How to Make This Look Your Own

One of the best things about soft glam is how adaptable it is.

For a daytime event, keep the eyeliner softer, use a lighter hand with the lashes and opt for a satin

pink lip. For an evening function, deepen the outer corners, add a little more shimmer and choose fuller lashes.

For a bride, the same look can be elevated with slightly more coverage, carefully layered blush and long-wearing products that hold up through photographs, hugs and happy tears.

You can also adjust the colours to complement your outfit. Champagne and rose gold work beautifully with beige, silver and pastel ensembles, while warmer bronze and copper shades can complement golds and richer colours.

And remember, the exact shades and products will vary depending on your skin tone, undertone, skin type and eye shape. Use the look as inspiration rather than a strict set of rules.

The Samah M. Take

I love that every element of this look has a purpose. The base creates a beautiful canvas, the blush brings warmth, the eyes add depth, and the glossy pink lips keep everything feeling soft and romantic.

Nothing needs to compete for attention. It all works together.

That's the beauty of soft glam: you can wear it to a wedding, an engagement, a formal dinner or any occasion when you want to feel a little more polished without going all out.

Because sometimes, the most beautiful makeup isn't about doing more. It's about getting the details just right, and having a look that makes you feel like yourself — just a little more glamorous.🤍
